The layer problem, in two sentences
A shared world is still cut into copies of each zone, and two characters can occupy the same coordinates without seeing one another. The mailbox does not care; a group invite drags both of you onto one copy, which is all anybody needs to know about it.
Why this side posts instead of meets
Santiago and Vancouver share a world and share nothing else about the hour. Rather than negotiate a window, sellers here tend to put the coin in the post and let you collect it whenever you next log in.
This world is the whole address
Get the region wrong and the order is undeliverable — not late, not refunded automatically, undeliverable. Characters in Europe cannot mail, trade or auction anything to characters here. It is the one field in the form worth reading twice.
Questions about Americas
Does gold cost more in Americas?
Not today. Every style is the same in both worlds: $0.82 Normal, $0.79 PvP, $1.04 Roleplay. The world decides where the seller has to be standing, not what they charge.
Can somebody in the other region deliver to me?
No, and there is no workaround. The two worlds share a game and nothing else: characters, mailboxes and auction houses are all separate.
What do I actually have to tell the seller?
Region, gameplay style, faction and your character's two-part name. There is no realm to specify, and the name is unique across the whole region, so nothing further is needed to find you.
Is one world a better deal than the other?
Not on price — sellers quote both the same. The difference is timing: whichever world you are in, a hand-to-hand trade is easiest while it is awake.
