Price range
Normal rates from the cheapest seller to the dearest

On the Normal ruleset the gap between the first and the last listing is wide, and almost none of it is about the coin. Until the servers open on November 4 no WoW Forever gold exists anywhere, so each seller is pricing something they will hand over later: the large shops price off their own forecasts, the small ones price off the large ones, and a few post a high number and wait for a buyer who does not compare.
Read the stock and delivery chips before the rate. A low listing with a thin stock may fill part of an order and leave you hunting for the rest, and a listing that hands over in a day is a worse deal than a slightly dearer one that hands over in minutes. The rate decides between offers that pass those 2 checks.
The spread should narrow once the auction house opens and sellers have a real market to price against. Our listed rate is re-set on November 18, after 2 weeks of that trading.
Supply and demand
What keeps WoW Forever PvE gold low
4 forces hold the Normal rate down, and each one works through supply or competition.
- The crowd. More characters are created on Normal than on any other ruleset, and every one of them gathers something. The weekly volume of ore, herbs and leather is the largest in Forever, and a larger pile of materials turns into a larger pile of gold.
- Uninterrupted sessions. Without forced PvP a farming route runs from start to finish. An hour spent gathering on Normal yields a full hour of materials, which makes each coin cheaper to produce.
- Gathering from level 3. An early quest hands every new character a manual for Herbalism, Mining or Skinning. On the most crowded ruleset that turns casual players into a steady source of raw materials.
- Competition between sellers. The deepest market attracts the most shops, and every shop chases the same buyer. When sellers undercut each other, the rate settles low and stays there.
That is why Normal usually sits at the bottom of the board. Usually rather than always: on September 19 PvP undercut it for a day, and the order is read again every morning instead of being assumed. For a buyer the same depth has a second benefit — a large order on Normal tends to be filled by one seller in one hand-over.

Where a Normal character's gold goes
The big costs on Normal are known in advance. Riding has a confirmed price; the rest is set by the auction house.

Riding prices are confirmed by the developers; the raid-night figure is our estimate from earlier versions of the game.
Riding is the reason most Normal players think about buying at all, and 1,000 gold is the target most characters save toward. On December 9 Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair open together, and consumables become a weekly bill for every raiding guild.

Sizing a Normal order
Pick the goal first, then the amount. In dollars at today's Normal rate:
- One goal per order. The in-game price of the goal is the size of the order, so nothing sits unused in your bags.
- Add a small margin. On Normal the extra usually costs less than on any other ruleset, and it covers the bag or the reagent you forgot.
- Check the minimum. Small top-ups are possible down to the smallest order shown above.
The Normal angle is volume: it is the ruleset where a goal plus a margin costs the least, so it is the one place where rounding an order up makes sense.

WoW Forever gold is 4 separate markets, one per ruleset, and the order between them follows population. The ruleset with the most players farms the most gold and settles lowest, the smallest one settles highest, and PvP lands between them and swings the most because its farming gets cut short. Hardcore has no rate yet: the mode arrives after launch.

Normal gold: questions before you order
Why does Normal usually have the lowest rate?
Because more players gather on Normal than anywhere else and nothing interrupts them, so the most gold is produced there each week. More stock brings more sellers, and sellers undercut each other. The word usually matters: PvP has dipped below Normal on some days, and the table above shows today's order.
Sellers list “PvE server gold” — is that the Normal ruleset?
Yes. Forever has no servers to pick from: each region is one world, and Normal is the ruleset inside it that sellers still call PvE. PvE server gold, PvE gold and Normal gold are the same coin in the same economy, at the same rate on this page.
How much gold does riding cost on Normal?
100 gold for the first riding tier and 1,000 for the top tier, mount included; Blizzard has not announced the levels. Riding is the usual reason players buy WoW Forever PvE gold in a single order, because it is the largest purchase most characters ever make.
Can I buy WoW Forever gold before November 4?
You can pay before then, but nothing can be handed over. The beta closed on October 21 and was wiped, and the live world opens on November 4, so no Forever gold exists in between. A listing you see today is a promise of delivery after launch.
What if I order gold for the wrong ruleset by mistake?
The gold cannot reach your character. Each ruleset is a separate economy, mail and trade stay inside it, and characters cannot switch rulesets. A coin delivered to Normal can only be spent by a Normal character, so check the ruleset on your character screen before ordering.
How long does an order of WoW Forever PvE gold take?
WoW Forever PvE gold is handed over as fast as the seller's stock and courier allow, and the delivery chip on each card gives their own estimate. Order size rarely changes it: a large order from a well-stocked seller moves as quickly as a small one, which is one advantage of the deepest market.
Will a seller ask for my password?
A seller worth ordering from never needs it. The order needs your character's 2-part name, the ruleset and the faction, and no step of handing over gold touches your account. A request for a login, a password or an authenticator code is a reason to order elsewhere.
Can a Normal character switch to PvP or Roleplay later?
No. Blizzard has said that playing under another ruleset means creating a new character there. Collections and Legacy points follow your account to that character, but gold and items stay behind on Normal, so buy for the ruleset you actually play.
